Separating fact from fiction on the topics of mental health issues and addictions is not easy, but this theatre group is dedicated to artistically informing. By combining professional artists as well as people who have professional or personally experienced mental health issues, the Workman Theatre Project produces quality theatre productions. The company tours throughout Canada, produces the annual 'Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival', and holds an annual art exhibit entitled 'Being Scene'.

This not-for-profit theatre group runs a minimum of two shows a year (spring and fall). Since 1966, the group has performed such musicals and operettas as "Oklahoma!”, "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "The Desert Song". Begun in 1920, the Canon Theatre began as a vaudville theatre and motion picture cinema. It became the first multiplex motion picture theatre in Canada in 1973 when it was split into 6 different show areas. It reversed back to a live theatre in 1989 after a heated battle between two cinema giants, and is still hosting productions today.

Homer's 'The Odyssey', the classic Russian story 'The Firebird' and 'Bluffer's Moon', a French Canadian tall tale are some of the past productions that have been met with resounding approval from audiences.
